Bespoke finishes

For customers who want an aged look, we offer a range of bespoke pre-aged finishes. All bespoke finishes are unlacquered ‘living’ finishes that will tarnish and patinate after purchase. This finishes include:

• Antique Brass
• Weathered Brass
• Aged Copper
• Antique Copper
• Weathered Copper
• Brushed Nickel
• Verdigris

These finishes are all done by hand and involve a number of processes to accelerate the oxidisation and patination of the surface of the product.

These processes include the use of an ageing solution, light abrasive pads and the application of a thin layer of wax, and these finishes will continue to age and patinate after purchase. The wax applied to the surface will not stop the ageing process and is purely there to enhance the aesthetic of the finish. The environment and handling of the finish will affect the speed of the ageing process and it is perfectly normal to experience variable colour changes across a product including areas of green oxidation even after a small amount of usage, which happens where the finish reacts with the water.

We recommend that customers carefully consider before choosing a bespoke finish. All bespoke finishes are classified as ‘custom’ products and as such, if the customer does not like how the products age and patinate after purchase, unfortunately these cannot be returned.
